New project for 2024

We are working with Weavers Way Coop to install solar on their new store in Germantown, a neighborhood in northwest Philadelphia. We signed a power purchase agreement and we’re embarking on a membership drive. Individuals can help by joining the Clean Energy Co-op.
We are having a virtual meeting on May 13th at 7PM
We are having two virtual members only info sessions:
— Monday, April 29 at 7 PM.
— Wednesday May 22 at 7 PM

Help the Co-op complete this exciting project!

Why Clean Energy Co-op?

It's about community, ownership and governance.

We are a membership organization, like a credit union or investment club, where only members can be investors. Our one-time, good-for-life membership fee is just $100. After that, you can invest in our current projects. (They all come with an official investment prospectus.)

As a member, you will always have a vote on the way the Co-op is run. One member = One vote, no matter how much or how little you choose to invest in the future.

Votes are used to elect board and chapter leadership members and to approve changes to the by-laws. Attendance at meetings is also a way of learning and getting your voice heard.

How it works

Learn

Learn about upcoming local renewable energy projects, connect with like-minded folks, and share your ideas.

Join

Become a member of the Clean Energy Co-op to invest in creating a more sustainable future for all.

Invest

Investment in the Co-op is limited to people and businesses living and working in Pennsylvania.

Earn

Watch as your investment makes a positive impact in our community & pays you dividends.

In our Co-op, community benefits take priority over profits. BUT, we are a business, so we want to make profitable returns to:

a) justify future investments
b) keep our members and investors engaged
c) attract new members and investors
d) make periodic dividends to our investors

We use a "slow money" investment strategy, where long-term and modest returns are acceptable – even desirable -- because the invested money circulates locally, and provides many other benefits back to the members, investors and our communities.

Our Community

We have members, chapters, and potential projects throughout PA. Are you interested?

Our Projects

We're looking for community organizations excited about clean, renewable energy for possible project sites.

Why a Co-op

We're a community-owned cooperative business, where 1 member = 1 vote, and community benefits take priority over profits.
